Responsibilities Registered Nurse - Surgical Unit R5/FB8 (0.9 FTE, day shift)   River 5/Forest 8 Surgical Unit is a dynamic 51 bed acute care floor that cares for post-op pediatric patients across the age continuum. We work with many different Surgical services (including General Surgery, Urology, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Plastics and ENT/OTO), as well as Neurology for EEG/seizure monitoring. Our unit recieves transfers from peri-op/PACU, the Pediatric ICU, and the Emergency Department. Our patients come to our unit to recover from surgery, and nurses get to take an active role in their recovey before dsicharging home, with an average length of stay of 3-4 days. Nurses on our unit enjoy the challenge of working with a diverse patient population and a variety of diagnoses & surgical procedures. Our unit is known for collaborative teamwork with many professional development opportunities like precepting, mentoring, Shared Governance, Charge Nurses, Super...
