  Ellison 10 is a thirty-six bed adult in-patient unit. Patients on this unit are complex cardiac and medical patients. The population includes cardiac arrhythmia patients requiring medical management, heart failure patients awaiting transplant and requiring intensive monitoring and coronary artery disease patients. This cardiac step-down unit (SDU) accommodates intermediate level of cardiac care.   Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN), the Patient Care Associate (PCA) assists the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions to promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment. PCA assists patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, and obtaining EKGs.   Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner.

Exciting Staff Nurse opportunity on Ellison 10, a 36 bed adult fast-paced  Cardiac Stepdown Unit !   This unit provides intermediate level care to patients who require cardiac monitoring for malignant arrhythmias, unstable coronary syndromes or other cardiac and medical disorders. Patients are admitted via the Emergency Department, ICU/CCU, procedural areas or are transferred from other New England Hospitals.
