GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Registered Nurse Patient Advocate guides the development of services and programs for patients, family, and staff so that the healthcare experience can be a positive one. This is accomplished by active listening and responding to concerns in a compassionate manner; resolving conflicts and facilitating mutually agreed upon outcomes; serving as liaison between clinicians and patients; ensuring care is patient and family centered; receiving and sharing compliments and critical feedback; advocating for concerns related to quality and safety issues and removing barriers so that care is accessible and equitable.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides objective representation in a neutral, non-threatening and compassionate manner on issues that are brought to OPA by patients, families, visitors, and staff.
