Utilizing the nursing process and guidelines for medical management, provides care for patients within the standards of the clinic, the department, and hospital and regulatory agencies.This position is in our memory diagnostic/general geriatric Outpatient Clinic doing new evaluations and ongoing psychopharm management for older adults. Employment at McLean Hospital is contingent upon a successful CORI (Criminal Background Check), National Background Check and clearance from the Occupational Health Department.

Working within the Department of Internal Medicine team the per diem nurse practitioner provides clinical coverage on Fridays and other days of the week as necessary.  Responsibilities include conducting admission H&Ps, consulting for medical and/or advanced nursing issues for inpatient, residential and outpatient psychiatric patients, providing emergency care as needed.  This position requires someone with excellent assessment, diagnostic reasoning and care planning, including prescribing therapies and/or medications.    Two weekends a month and Tues and Thursday coverage.  

The Advanced Practice Nurse working in the  Clinical   Evaluation   Center  is responsible for completing the initial admission work-up of assigned patients and providing a plan of care on the inpatient unit.  The supervising psychiatrist will review all information and orders with the  APN . The APRN will also cover Middleborough units virtually.
