Ypsilanti, Michigan, United States College of Health and Human Serv Academic & Student Affairs College of Health & Human Services Staff Full Time Opening on: May 25 2023 We are seeking applications for one Director of Nursing Operations: A full-time 12-month appointment administrative position with 3 credit dedicated Fall & Winter teaching loads. Candidate screening by committee and interviews will begin at the commencement of the Fall 2023 semester, and ideally the selected candidate will start in either the Fall 2023 or Winter 2024 semester.
Primary responsibilities of the role include: Be responsible for program accreditations, as well as program assessments and program improvements within the School of Nursing. Be responsible for oversight of the School of Nursing database program. Investigate and development innovative programs and delivery methods for graduate and undergraduate programs; including, but not limited to an MSN Education online and a FNP program. In conjunction with Directors of Undergraduate and Graduate Programs, oversee, analyze and use student exit surveys, alumni surveys, employment surveys, employer surveys, and community advisory board input to improve all programs. Work with the Personnel & Finance Committee to develop and implement relevant faculty development programs for full, full-time lecturers and part-time lecturers. Assist School of Nursing committees to achieve their overall purpose, annual and strategic goals. Work with the School Director to schedule courses and assigning instructional staff for maximal efficiency and fiscal responsibility. Work with staff to maximize office operations in conjunction with the Director, School of Nursing. Performs related duties, as required.
Job Requirements
Qualifications include: A doctoral degree in nursing or related fields is required. Faculty appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor within the School of Nursing is necessary. Unencumbered RN license within the State of Michigan is required. Demonstrated proficiency in program innovation, development and implementation is required. A broad understanding of academic nursing issues at the undergraduate and graduate level is required. Some combination of knowledge and experience with the following: nursing accreditation processes, development and implementation of policies and procedures, relational databases and/or grant writing is necessary. Advance practice certification and experience (such as Family Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Midwife or Nurse Anesthetist) is highly desired.
