Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Executive Director and Associate Chief Nursing Officer, PCS Ambulatory provides clinical leadership, strategic planning, and direction for Specialty clinics, ambulatory care centers, ambulatory clinical float pool, ambulatory care coordination, operational and clinical efficiency, and process improvement, in collaboration with ambulatory medical and administrative staff. Develops policies, procedures, and programs to ensure high-quality patient safety and effective use of resources that align with the mission and vision of the organization. Directs goals and objectives for the department(s) and projects/programs assigned in collaboration with the medical, clinical, and administrative leadership teams to ensure standards of professional practice, regulatory requirements, continuous performance improvement initiatives, financial accountability, and responsibility are optimized and in compliance. Collaborates with leaders and directs improvements in employee engagement, well-being, and patient family experience. Manages Magnet requirements in the ambulatory setting as well as partners in driving quality and patient safety.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:
- 5 years progressive management experience. Director and above preferred.
- Experience working in academic environment, pediatrics desired.
- Expertise in hospital nursing leadership required; specialty patient care programs and managing ambulatory clinical operations preferred.
- Ability to mentor, manage and lead staff in a variety of settings in order to provide effective and compliant care and services.
- Ability to work with staff at all levels.
- Effective at leading change, expertise in building and leading teams.
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- Master’s degree in Nursing or relevant health-related field from an accredited school required; PhD/DNP Preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of California.
- Current AHA BLS required.
- Current nursing specialty certification required.
