Overview

The University of Minnesota Medical Center represents an integrated academic health care system and is comprised of two hospitals and dozens of adult specialty clinics on both the East and West banks of the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis. It is the flagship facility of M Health Fairview providing breakthrough medicine and transforming the health of our community.

MHealth Fairview Health Services is looking for a Med-surg Float Pool department at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. This is a:

.6 FTE (48 Hours worked every two weeks)
Night shift position with 8 hour shifts and every other weekend.
This position is benefit eligible.

The starting base rate of pay for the position is $39.70. Candidates with experience or higher degree may be brought in at a higher rate of pay.

$2.00 extra per hour weekend shift differential
$2.00 extra per hour float pool differential
$4.00 extra per hour night shift differential

As a Medical Surgical Float Pool RN you will float to the Medical/Tele, Transplant, Neuro, Surgical, Oncology and Emergency Observation units.

Responsibilities

RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.
Establish and implement nursing care plans for assigned patient populations through assessment, development, activation, evaluation, and discharge.
Conducts ongoing assessments as determined by patient’s condition and/or the hospital policies, procedures or protocols and reprioritizes care accordingly.
Organize, assigns, and supervise duties and responsibilities of other staff members as a team leader.
Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.
Collaborate with patient, family, and health care team members
