Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department at our St Johns Hospital location in Maplewood, MN. This is a Novice Position.

Schedule: This position will be working 0.6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks variable schedule). The shift length will be 12 hours on the night shift and will work every 3rd weekend.

About the Emergency Department at St John's:

• This unit has a total of 29 beds that sees abdominal pains, falls, strokes, chest pain, headaches etc within Pediatric through geriatric patients.  
• This is the only ER in Minnesota that has results pending room for patients nearing the end of their treatment so that they can wait for discharge paperwork, which opens our active treatment rooms sooner.
• We are a dynamic team that is focused on promoting a welcoming atmosphere filled with strong teamwork, collaboration, empathy, and compassion.
• We are looking for a nurse who has strong social skills that knows how to communicate with both our patients and their fellow staff, who is compassionate, and who is a positive great teammate.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for:

• Being the key leader of the interdependent team and is responsible to achieve patient and unit outcomes by coordinating the care for a group of patients. This includes: comprehensive assessment of patient and family needs; identification of outcomes based on the needs assessment; establishing the plan of care; monitoring the progress; and modification of the plan of care as needed.
• Demonstrates commitment to principles of the patient care model (Professional Partnership Model) and achieving the HealthEast nursing vision and strategy.
• Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
• Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
