The Emergency Department is a Level I Adult, Pediatric and Burn Trauma Center. It spans the ground floor of 3 buildings and is divided into several areas, including pediatric and psychiatric areas.
The Patient Care Associate (PCA) will assist the RNs in the Emergency Department (ED) with a variety of functions including phlebotomy and EKGs, transport patients, check rooms and equipment, assist patients with dressing and feeding and some clerical functions.
Shifts: 36 hours, Evening shift
Requires holiday and weekend commitment
Current CNA certificate for Massachusetts and previous experience, preferably in an acute care setting. Nursing students will not be considered for these positions.
HS diploma or equivalent.
Effective customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers.
Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems using a combination of strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
Ability to lift and transport patients, using the appropriate physical technique, in a safe manner for the patient and self.
