Providence is calling a RN - Diagnostic Imaging to Providence Medford Medical Center. This is a per diem/on-call position. Available shifts are visible to staff 6 weeks in advance, and schedules are finalized 4 weeks in advance. Our per diem nurses are union members with the Oregon Nurses Association, and are required to pick up a minimum of 48 hours in a 6 week schedule period. This includes 2 holidays per year. You will also earn an additional 15% (of your hourly pay rate) in lieu of benefits pay premium as a per diem Caregiver with Providence.
We are seeking RNs who can pick up shifts Monday-Friday, from 0730-1600. You will be asked to participate in standby/call which is from 1600-0700. Standby requirements are typically 1-2 weekday shifts per week, and 1-2 weekend standby shifts per 6 week schedule period.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) that will provide professional, independent nursing care for Providence patients that is as evidence-based as possible. Care is based in the nursing process and is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act. The RN applies knowledge of assessing, planning, ordering, giving, delegating, teaching and supervising professional nursing care delivery that promotes patients' optimal health and independence. All Providence professional nursing practice requires a broad range of general nursing knowledge and expertise. In addition, development and validation of knowledge and skills essential to the assigned department, patient population and/or practice area are crucial.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Diagnostic, Monitoring, and Intervention Function
Assessment and ongoing monitoring of patient condition, initiation of appropriate nursing and medical response, and documentation
Protect vulnerable patients from complications of the clinical care environment
Perform a comprehensive nursing assessment.
Utilize the clinical systems and available resources to develop, refine, and evaluate an evidence-based nursing plan of care, as well as, communicate and coordinate care processes.
Attention to the individual person and family as patient, listening to the patient's story and adapting care accordingly. Management of patient comfort including pain management, skin care, spiritual and comfort care measures
Tailor caring processes to the individuality and uniqueness of each patient and family
Advocate for his/her patient's rights, needs, and desires.
Integrate culturally competent/sensitive patient care into the patient and family's plan of care.
Engage in effective and caring professional communication and behaviors with colleagues, co-workers, and interdisciplinary teams.
Teaching and coaching patients and their families as well as other healthcare providers:
Consistently performs a comprehensive patient teaching/learning assessment
Implement and comprehensively evaluate a patient/family teaching/learning plan of care.
Accountability for safe practice, identifying and correcting problems, participating in quality improvement activities and employing evidence-based practice:
Consistently focus on improving nursing care quality by readjusting care strategies and priorities.
Participate in quality improvement and nursing research activities at the unit level.
Demonstrate nursing practice that supports enhanced patient outcomes, including the National Patient Safety Goals, nurse sensitive outcomes, and other strategic quality initiatives.
Required qualification in this position includes:
Relevant training applicable to the position, as specified by the Nurse Manager
Unencumbered RN license in state(s) of hire, and wherever care is delivered
If RN holds a multistate license through the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), the RN must adhere to the requirements of licensure in the new state(s) of hire
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following authorized governing bodies:
American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider),
American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider), -OR-
Military Training Network (MTN) – (Healthcare Provider) upon hire
ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support)
Conscious sedation experience
Preferred qualification in this position includes:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
One (1) year acute RN experience
Three (3) years experience in radiology or comparable field
