A healthcare network in New York City is currently seeking a Cantonese and/or Mandarin-speaking, licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their staff as their new Bilingual Primary Care Nurse.
Job Requirements
Responsibilities:
The Bilingual Primary Care Nurse (RN) will:
- Assess patient symptoms and communicate them to providers
- Perform triage and routine procedures (measure vital signs, medication administration, injections, etc.)
- Inspect the facilities and act to maintain proper infection control and patient safety
- Assist with vaccine management
- Educate patients regarding preventative care for their health; counsel patients on chronic disease management
- Medication review and teachings (glucometer, insulin, inhaler teaching)
- Inform patients of test results and management plan
- Oversee patient flow and care coordination
- Participate in quality control and improvement
- Keep up to date with new guidelines, updates, policies and disseminate to clinical staff
- Participating in RN meetings and possible committee meetings
- Implement new policies and workflow or changes and reinforce existing ones
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Bilingual (English and Cantonese or Mandarin)
Desired Skills:
- 1+ year of Clinical Nursing experience in a Community setting
- 1+ year of Primary Care experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- ACLS or BLS certification
- Solid assessment and documentation skills
- Patient oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
