The Registered Nurse is to safely administer chemotherapeutic agents to patients in the Cancer Care Center. Displays clinical proficiency, which includes the management and safe delivery of age-specific patient centered care (encompassing young adult to geriatric clients) through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of overt and covert changes in clinical conditions of oncology patients in accordance with prescribed standards. Provides care and instruction to patients and families from a basis of specialized knowledge in oncology nursing. Plans and assigns work to unit support staff and professional nursing, as needed.
