Fred Hutch Cancer Center

Seattle, WA 98109-1023

About Us

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center unites comprehensive care and advanced research to provide the latest cancer treatment options and accelerate discoveries that prevent, treat and defeat cancer and infectious diseases worldwide.

An independent, nonprofit organization, Fred Hutch also serves as UW Medicine’s cancer program. This relationship allows for enhanced care coordination with one of the world’s leading integrated health systems.

What This Means for Your Care

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center will accelerate the development, evaluation, and use of new cancer discoveries and treatments and will offer patients greater access to clinical trials, bringing research and clinical care closer together. For current patients the superior care you have come to expect from us will continue uninterrupted. For example, as part of the transition to Fred Hutch there will be no changes to your doctor or care team. Over the longer term, this update to our structure will enable us to improve patients’ care experiences and increase integration across your care team.

Fred Hutch will focus on integrating teams and operations over the coming weeks and months but you will see some new changes coming soon.

  • MyChart: Between October 1-3, our electronic health records system will be updated with our new name and logo. If you haven’t already signed up for MyChart, please take a few minutes to sign up for MyChart

    • NOTE: Our immunotherapy and bone marrow transplant patients should continue direct communication with their care team.
  • Patient education and forms: After October 3, you will begin seeing education handouts and forms with our new name and logo. We anticipate it will take a few months for all patient education materials to reflect our new name and logo.
  • Billing statements: The bills you currently receive from SCCA will come from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. As of October, you will see the new logo on your bills.
  • Signs inside our clinics, on our buildings and our shuttles: In October, temporary signs will begin replacing existing signs. Permanent signage will be in place in the coming months. The new logo will appear on shuttles between the former SCCA and UW Medicine in October.
  • Website: Between October 1–3, you will see a new look on the SCCA website with the new name and logo. If you visit FredHutch.org, you will see a similar change. Over the next year, we will have some of the same content on each website. Eventually, the sites will be combined under a single web address.

During the transition and afterward, high-quality patient care, research and operations will continue uninterrupted. Seattle Children's, an original SCCA alliance partner, will work in close partnership with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center to advance breakthroughs in adult and pediatric oncology.
