NEWPORT HOSPITAL & HEALTH SERVICES

714 West Pine Street, Newport, WA 99156

Pend Oreille County Public Hospital District #1 is a municipal corporation established in 1921 and authorized to provide for “the healthcare needs of District residents and other persons.” The District operates as Newport Hospital and Health Services (NHHS) in Newport, Washington along the majestic, north-flowing Pend Oreille River.

Whether you are a resident of the greater Pend Oreille Valley, Priest River, Priest Lake or are just passing through for recreation in the great outdoors, NHHS provides care when you need it, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As a critical access hospital with a rural health clinic, we offer excellent care to all and proudly serve as a patient-centered medical home to our residents in Eastern Washington and our neighbors in Northern Idaho.

NHHS employs five primary care practice physicians, two health care affiliates, two Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists and a General Surgeon. We offer complete obstetrical care including epidural anesthesia and Cesarean deliveries in a private, family setting.

Outpatient services are comprised of full service diagnostic imaging (radiology), laboratory, pathology and licensed physical and restorative therapy. NHHS also offers short stay and same day surgical services and a fully staffed general medical acute care unit. The District also owns and operates a 50-bed long term care facility and River Mountain Village (42-unit assisted living facility).
